Religious Education

Welcome to our CCD Faith Formation Program!

Children’s Faith Formation provides children and youth in

elementary – high school grades with an ongoing opportunity to

encounter Jesus Christ and grow in relationship with Him and the

Catholic Church. Using an approved curriculum, catechists help the

participants to deepen their knowledge of Jesus, grow in their love

of Jesus, and faithfully follow Jesus in their daily lives.

Mission Statement:

The CCD Program at St. Clare's Church provides children in elementary and middle school grades with an ongoing opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ and grow in relationship with Him and the Catholic Church. Using an approved curriculum, Catechists help the participants to deepen their knowledge of Jesus, grow in their love of Jesus and faithfully follow Jesus in their daily lives.

In addition, our program prepares children for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation. This involves a partnership among families, parishioners and catechists. St. Clare's religious education program exists to assist parents in fulfilling their obligation by providing them with a formal, structured and planned program of catechesis and formation.

Program Philosophy:

At your child's baptism, you accepted "the responsibility of training your child in the practice of the faith" and acknowledged "your duty to bring your child up to keep God's commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and our neighbor"

(Right of Baptism).

As primary teachers and models of the Christian faith, parents are called on most importantly in the Sacramental Preparation of their children. To assist in this experience, we invite parents to be involved with their child's learning by making sure they attend all classes, complete any assignments, review weekly lessons, pray together, attend Mass and join in any retreats or functions that will enhance their faith formation.

If you love working with children, want to share your faith and are interested in joining this Ministry, please call the parish office at 401-348-8765.
