Religious Education

Mission - These volunteer ministers strive to deepen and expand knowledge of our Catholic faith for our elementary, middle school students, and Confirmation candidates. They provide preparation for the sacraments of Marriage and Baptism; the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, and on-going education for the parish community at-large. Elementary Grades 1-5 & Middle School Grade 6 - Our teachers provide foundational teaching and guidance in the Catholic faith including sacramental preparation for Reconciliation and First Eucharist in grade 2. Elementary students assemble in the Parish Center for religious education on Monday nights from 6-7:00 pm and Middle School grade 6 students assemble on Sunday mornings after the 10:00 Mass in the Parish Center. CCD Registration Form for Grades 1-7

Grades 7 &8 make up the two-year Confirmation program. The school year runs from September through to April and classes take place in the parish center for grade 7, and in the lower rectory for grade 8, both on Sunday mornings at 11:00am. Refer to the church calendar for class schedule and times. Information on the requirements for a Confirmation Sponsor and Service Hours for the 8th grade class can be obtained by clicking on the links. Adult education

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Adults who are seeking to become Catholics, those wishing to complete their Sacraments, and believing adults within the Roman Catholic Church who wish to deepen their knowledge of their faith are led by on a journey that leads

to the font of Baptism and Confirmation, ending in full initiation into the Catholic Faith.

Classes generally begin in October.

Adult Education

Throughout the year, opportunities for ongoing development of faith within the parish community take place through retreats, workshops, bulletin inserts, conferences, seminars and visiting speakers. Educational opportunities are also provided for those couples preparing for the sacrament of Marriage through Marriage Preparation programs and reflective tools. Finally, baptism preparation is provided for those parents presenting their children for this sacrament.

All aspects of this ministry welcome individuals who wish to share their faith and life experience as catechists, teachers, group leaders, monitors, sponsors, presenters, aides and assistants. Volunteers are welcome!
